Kia ora and welcome to yet another exciting term at SRS!

This term we have been learning about….writing Recounts; Algebra and Addition, Subtraction and Multiplication; Cycles for Topic. We will also be writing Poetry, Reading, taking part in Large Balls Skills and enjoying Sport.

Cycle and Solo

This term our Topic is “Cycles” which covers life cycles and has a Science aspect as well as a Social Studies one. Room 10 have looked at the life cycle of a Cicada and a Human Being. Room 11 have found out many interesting things about Butterflies. Room 12 have discussed Life and a life cycle of an insect. Room 18 have been using Venn diagrams to compare the life cycles of different animals with humans

WHOLE SCHOOL ASSEMBLY

We will now be having whole school assemblies in the hall on Mondays at 9 o’clock.
Each Team will have turns hosting the Assembly, choosing the songs and sharing a variety of items.
Team 2 will be hosting the next Assembly on Monday 10 May. Unfortunately, if it is raining the Assembly will be postponed as we do not want 500 wet children rushing into the hall.

MATHLETICS

Ms Perring is pleased to inform us that many children have now enrolled in the Mathletics programme. The cut off date to join the programme is this Friday (7 May) so that Ms Perring can register all the Mathletes and they can begin their programmes. Please see Ms Perring for a notice.
