The school's Parent Teacher Association has been a vital part of our school community for many years. Some of our key members are retiring at the beginning of this year (AGM during the Meet The Teacher Evening). We urgently need new parents to become involved. There is a danger of our PTA not being able to survive without new members of the committee who are interested in helping to support our school. Please fill in and return the self-nomination form at the end of this newsletter and return it to school as soon as possible, if you are interested in making a difference and giving your children the best possible opportunities.

The Parent Teacher Association acts as a fundraising body, and provides opportunities for links between home and school. We encourage all parents to come along and join in, and welcome any new ideas for fundraising, and offers of assistance. There are opportunites to help in classrooms and become involved in special activities such as trips and camp days.

Meetings are generally held on the evening of the second Tuesday of the month, in the school staff room.

The PTA allocates funds to worthy causes throughout the year. The two main projects currently are:

School hall
Native Grove

If you would like to be kept informed but can not commit to being a member of the committee, please come along to a meeting to meet the members and become one of the Friends of the PTA.

For more information, including a copy of the last meeting minutes, the next scheduled meeting, or for a list of committee members, please email pta@stanhope.school.nz or contact the reception office
