Enrolment Scheme - SRS Home Zone
At the Board of Trustees meeting of 24 August 2009 it was resolved to commence the SRS Enrolment Scheme as approved by the Ministry of Education. This commences officially as from 1 September 2009.
The school now has an approved "home zone" - see attached map and verbal description of the zone. Students from within that zone have automatic right to enrol. Please note also that when considering out of zone enrolments the Board will accept applications in order of priority as described below. In general, this means that siblings (brothers and sisters) of existing students should be able to enrol in the future although this cannot be guaranteed. It will depend on future roll growth and available classroom space. (The Ministry has provided funding for some additional classroom spaces which should be ready halfway through 2010.) If there are more applications than places available the BOT will conduct a ballot as per MOE regulations.
Priority for out of zone enrolments:
First priority: will be given to applicants who are siblings (brothers / sisters) of current students.
Second priority: will be given to applicants who are siblings of former students.
Third priority: will be given to applicants who are children of board employees.
Fourth priority: will be given to all other applicants.
Home Zone Enrolments
All students who live within the home zone described below (and shown on the attached map) shall be entitled to enrol at the school.
Starting at the intersection of Michaels Avenue (odd numbers included) and Marua Road travel east along Marua Road (48-250 and 35-251 included) and north on to Celtic Crescent (all off streets included), along the access way to meet Abbotts Way at odd number 143 and above (included). Travel east along Abbotts Way (Winstone Drive included) and at the roundabout turn on to Lunn Avenue (both sides included) then east in to Harding Avenue (all off streets included, Maungarei Memorial Drive excluded). At the end of Harding Avenue, travel west along Ellerslie-Panmure Highway (220-460 and 245-465 included) then south along the centre of Barrack Road (odd numbers only). Travel west along Harwood Road, Almond Place and Panorama Road (44-120 and 47-117 only included). Travel north along Ferndale Road (included) to meet Ellerslie-Panmure Highway (Leonard Road excluded). Travel west along both sides of Ellerslie-Panmure Highway then north along the centre of Michaels Avenue back to the starting point.
